Since the implementation of reform and opening-up policy almost 30 years before, the society and economy has
changed quickly and profoundly. The WTO accession in 2001 injected huge motivation for the modernization
for China, both in terms of market economy and rule of law. The CPC’s 18th national congress in 2012 and the 3rd
Session in 2014 established the general development strategy of Socialism with Chinese Characters for China.
China is within the process of adjusting the structure of industries and transforming the developing patterns.
Chinese people are confident to build a MODERATELY PROSPEROUS SOCIETY IN ALL RESPECTS.
The development of China’s economy has created a new large market for the world. In 2013, the annual import of
China was valued at USD 1.95 trillion and the China - EU trade value amounted to 559 billion USD. China is also
within the best countries for FDIs according to A.T. Kearney.
In recent years, the Sino-Polish cooperation in economy and trade is developing rapidly. In 2011, the China and
Poland achieved the strategic partnership. In 2012, Premier Wen Jiabao visited Poland and started the
China-CEE leaders meetings. Poland is China’s 1nd trade partner in the Central and Eastern Europe and China
is Poland’s biggest trade partner in Asia. I am confident that there are great potentials for development of China
and Poland in bilateral trade, investment as well as economic and technological cooperation.
My office would like to act as a bridge for Sino-Polish economic and trade cooperation, and to provide services for
Chinese and Polish companies, to promote further development of the bilateral economic and trade relationship.
